  • Why do I love fly fishing, especially in the great Pacific Northwest? Yes, it is a bit hard at first to learn, but once you get it down, there is nothing like fly fishing- nothing!

    I grew up fishing. My mother and my grandfathers loved fishing; they could never get enough of it. Fishing in my family was as highly regarded as attending college, or at least acquiring the kind of skill that you could make a great living at.

  • Rivers and lakes and mountains and coffee: life in the great Pacific Northwest is like no other. I have lived here all but three years of my life, and I would not trade it for anywhere else in the world…

    Yes, the politics suck here. And while I am taxed and squeezed out of my money for pie-in-the-sky ideas that never work by children (liberals and socialists) in my state, I try not to let it get in the way of living my life. And until it does and the crap hits the fan for those people, I will be enjoying the Good Lord’s creation in my little part of the globe.

  • I love every season. Summer, with its inviting warmth, begs us to come outside and explore. Spring brings forth life, both beautiful and refreshing. Winter, with its quietness and solitude. But autumn is the perfect season; at least it is for me…

    It is late August, and I can already see the tint of autumn in the trees. I reach for my laptop and search the Fall Foliage Map in my area. As a hobby photographer, it’s the perfect tool for planning great outings for this shutterbug.

  • We called it Summer’s End, but that wasn’t the real name of the place we loved to camp when I was young. It was a beautiful, magical place for us. My family and I would camp there every year, at least we did until Bigfoot happened.
